Question with 3 notes
Anonymous said: On the subject of music ed vs performance I think every school has one that is more "superior" at my school it was education. I do not think one is better than the other though.

Anonymous said: let's just put it this way. where would music performance majors be without their music educators? while i'm not putting one above the other, as a music education major i have to learn pretty much every instrument in addition to showing proficiency on a primary and secondary instrument. at my school the music ed majors are double majors with only 6 elective credit hours. most programs i've heard of for music ed are a lot more intensive than performance.
I have nothing more to contribute to this conversation. It’s up to you guys to fight this out now.

Anonymous said: The music education major is MUCH more intense than the performance major. I seriously don't understand why you posted a meme that called music ed majors "second class citizens". At our school, the performance degree is seen as a cop out.
Are you serious? We already had this conversation. That meme was poking fun at the fact that music ed majors are frequently seen as and treated like second-class citizens by performance majors. It was not suggesting that they actually are second-class. It was, in fact, submitted by a music ed major. jfc.

Yeah I know, I’m always kind of startled when I realize that other humans live in NC lol
Anonymous said: AH! You went to UNCC? My sister goes there. :D
:D cool! Lots of awesome people go to UNCC.
Anonymous said: where did you graduate from? and what instrument do you play?
lololololololololol implying I’ve graduated
Ok but seriously I went to an visual and performing arts high school in Charlotte, NC, spent a semester at Brevard College, spent a semester at UNC Charlotte, and dropped out because I couldn’t afford school, among other reasons. Flute and piccolo are my primary instruments, and the ones I was majoring in.
Anonymous said: I know this is a weird question that will go unanswered but there's this song, the intro fascinates me but I'm not sure what instrument it is.. I was hoping you guys can tell me what it is. Go on youtube and search Everything Must Go by Taking Back Sunday. Pleeeassee, do you know what instrument is played in the beginning?
I want to say it’s just synthesizer, but I’m not 100% on that. Anyone else want to give it a listen? Here’s the song:

oh god please send me as many music puns as you all can and I’ll respond with silly gifs
Anonymous said: Are you going to, or can you, put a facebook "like" button for this page or the pictures? :D
Not as far as I know. If someone wants to start a facebook page for Music Major Ostrich they’re welcome to so long as they run it by me and credit me with the creation of the original blog, but I don’t have time to curate a facebook page as well as a tumblr page. Any takers?
